Watercolor Soothes the Soul

my watercolor poppy

While my son was busy digging in the dirt and blowing bubbles outside this afternoon, my daughter and I decided to paint with watercolors at the dining table.  We both commented on how relaxed we were.  Nothing feels rushed with watercolors and time actually seems to slow down a bit.  I find painting meditative and soothing to the soul.  After my son came inside, dappled with dirt and wearing a smile, he asked to join us in painting.  I believe that anyone, young or old, artist or not, can benefit from watercoloring.
